We are now back on the Stuart Highway on our way home we stopped at Bitter Springs this morning for one final swim.  This hot spring has also had a makeover but unlike Katherine Hot Springs this makeover is fantastic.  The hot spring river is the same although it has been cleared a little bit further so you can float past the first ladder along to a new second ladder.  They have also concreted the original stone path which is great because you can now float down the river and then walk back to the start and float back down again.  This is what we did over and over again.  We could of stayed here all day.  I took a video with the go pro so I will show you when we get home.

Continuing on the Stuart Highway we were delayed by a Road Train which had caught fire.  The road train was carrying 3 trailers of cows.  Luckily the driver had time to get the cows out before the cab was engulfed in flames.  The truck was blocking the north bound lane but the flames were making it impossible for anyone to pass on either side of the road so we were stuck here while the cab burnt.  Eventually we were able to pass safely and about half and hour later saw the Kia Police Car coming up from Tennant Creek.  It is a reminder of how far away you really are from help if its needed.  By the way the Stuart Highway now has a speed limit 130 km per hr.

Tonight we are staying at The Pebbles just outside of Tennant Creek.  It is a beautiful free camp.  It is 6 kms off the highway so it is nice and quiet and not jam packed like a lot of the free camps and we have some beautiful sunset photos of The Pebbles which are just small rocks.
